Are your kibbles hypoallergenic?

Our kibbles are made with a unique source of animal protein: the black soldier fly. Its rarity gives it an extremely low allergenic potential because it is a new food for most dogs. Plus, they don't contain any of the 10 most common food allergens in dogs (the most common are beef, chicken, and fish).

Also, we have a short list of ingredients, which helps to minimize the risk of allergies in animals. Our recipe is therefore particularly suitable for sensitive dogs and cats or those who have already developed food allergies.

What type of insects are found in kibble?

At KOOKAPI we use dehydrated black soldier fly larvae. We have chosen this source of animal protein because it outperforms in terms of nutrient supply and is more respectful of the environment and animal welfare than beef, chicken or fish.
The ones we have selected contain 40% highly digestible protein (more than 91%) and their rarity gives it a high hypoallergenic potential.
In addition, it is a natural source of protein (insects raised without GMOs or chemicals) and 100% traceable.

Are there preservatives in KOOKAPI croquettes?

At KOOKAPI, we are committed to developing the best possible kibble for the health of our dogs. Thus, we are committed to ensuring that all our recipes do not contain any preservatives, artificial colors or flavors.

Are the recipes developed and approved by animal nutrition specialists?

Our recipes are demanding and audacious. They were created thanks to the knowledge of the founding team, which has more than twenty years of experience in the canine nutrition market and has acquired the perspective necessary to separate itself from preconceived ideas that undermine the quality of the products.

Are KOOKAPI kibbles a complete diet for my dog?

You will find in the KOOKAPI kibbles, all the nutritional intakes recommended for a dog or a puppy. Our croquettes are complete and balanced meals, and therefore do not need to be accompanied by other foods.
However, it is important to follow the recommended daily amounts and adapt them according to your dog's weight and physical activity.

Is the protein intake the same as with traditional protein-based kibbles (beef, chicken, salmon, etc.)?

Of course, our combination of insect, plant, algae and brewer's yeast proteins makes our kibbles particularly rich in good quality protein. They contain 18 different amino acids when the European regulation requires 10. The black soldier fly larvae we use in our recipes are a source of very high quality protein, but also of iron and zinc. These proteins are therefore excellent for the whole body, at any age and regardless of the animal's physical condition. They are very well assimilated by the animal, with a protein digestibility rate of more than 90%, which is higher than many recognised brands sold by vets.

Why do you use grains like rice in your kibbles?

Rice is a gluten-free cereal that we have chosen to use in our croquettes because it is a very good source of energy. It is a source of protein very well digested by dogs and recommended for gastrointestinal disorders. In addition, no publication shows the harmful effects of cereals on dogs, why deprive yourself of it!

Can these kibbles help my dog ​​who often has digestive problems?

KOOKAPI kibbles contain a unique source of animal protein, which aims to greatly reduce the risk of intolerance. Indeed, insect proteins are highly digestible and easily assimilated by the body of our dogs.

Also, we put rice in the recipe, it is a very digestible cereal for our four-legged friends and we use brewer's yeast which increases the biodiversity of the digestive microbiota. Finally, the fava beans used provide a perfect fiber level to promote intestinal transit.


Finally, we work with the minimum of ingredients to avoid as much as possible these food intolerances that cause intestinal disorders or skin problems. However, if your pet has recurrent digestive disorders, they may be the result of a pathology, do not hesitate to consult your veterinarian.

Is it possible (and recommended) to transfer the croquettes to store them in a metal box?

It all starts with the coating. Unlike traditional croquettes, KOOKAPI croquettes are coated without the addition of chemical flavouring, such as pyrophosphate, used by many brands. Our coating is made with vegetable oil. Therefore, the kibbles can be caused to oxidize more quickly, especially if they are moved to another container. We therefore recommend always keeping them in their original packaging.

How much to give my dog?

A dog's energy requirements depend on its weight, age or particular period of its life (growth, gestation, lactation) and its energy expenditure (depending on the dog's activity). Our recommendations are specified on the back of each pack and more precisely at the bottom of each product page.

Our croquettes are made in France, in our partner factory in Mayenne and under the supervision of veterinarians.
We try to reconcile ecology and economy in a concrete way by using short circuits and selecting eco-responsible partners.

Where can we find your croquettes and snacks?

We offer a distribution with a minimum of intermediaries - neither wholesalers nor distribution chains - in order to be able to offer a fairer direct-workshop sale price for parents of dogs and cats.
Our products are available on kookapi.com, but also in partner petshops, grooming salons and veterinary clinics.

How soon am I delivered?

We are committed to dispatching your order within 24 working hours of your order. The deadlines are as follows:
Delivery to a relay point: 72 working hours
Home delivery: 48 working hours
Express home delivery: 24 hours
You can also come and pick up your package for free at our premises! We would be delighted to meet your companion and you!

What if I'm not at home?

Deliveries are made by Laposte, Chronopost, Mondial relay, UPS. Your parcel tracking number is given to you in order to organise your delivery as well as possible. In case of absence you can reschedule your delivery with the notice of passage of the carrier concerned. If you are not sure to be at home, you also have the possibility of having your order delivered to a relay point where you have 10 days to collect your packet of kibbles.

When can I benefit from free delivery?

At KOOKAPI we always offer you delivery to a relay point. For any order of 50 euros or more, delivery is also offered at home!

Can I order and have it delivered abroad?

For the moment we also deliver to Spain, Germany, Netherlands, Italy, Portugal, Switzerland, Belgium, Luxembourg and United Kingdom.

After placing an order, how do I know where my package is?

To track your package live, you must go to the carrier's website, which will send you the tracking link by text and email. If you have a problem, do not hesitate to contact us directly.

What is the deadline for returning an item, and how do I do it?

You have a period of 14 working days from the delivery of the products. You can download the return form via the link provided by the carrier (it's the same link as the package tracking link) which will allow you to ship it for free. To be reimbursed, the product must be intact and the package must contain the return slip that you can download from: XXXX. The refund will then be made within 10 days of receipt of the return form.

My package has not been delivered, what should I do?

If your package has not been delivered to you on the scheduled date and you have not received notification from your carrier, please contact us by email or telephone. We will contact the carrier to find a solution as soon as possible.

Can I change my delivery address after placing an order?

Send us an email or contact us by phone, if the order has not been processed we modify it by hand.

What benefits does a subscription give me?

The subscription has two objectives: - To simplify your life: Your dog's consumption being relatively stable, subscribing makes it possible to automate the delivery so that you no longer have to worry about it. At KOOKAPI you can choose the frequency of delivery (weekdays) and the number of bags and the format (1.5 or 9 kg for the dog / 8.5 for the puppy).

- Save you 20%: If you subscribe, we give you a permanent 20% discount on every order. To reduce your environmental impact, we invite you to space out your deliveries as much as possible.

Can I use a discount code for a subscription?

Unfortunately, the advantages provided by discount codes cannot be combined with those provided by a subscription, so they can only be used for a single order.

Is it possible to order by phone?
