The recipe puppy and mother has been developed in accordance with the strong nutritional biases of the recipe for adult dogs.
With the help of specialists, we have adapted it to better meet their specific needs. The recipe has been enriched, for example, with vitamin E to help acquire the puppy's own natural defenses and thus compensate for the disappearance of the immune protection provided by its mother.

Developing a kibble recipe that is ideal for puppies but also for their mothers when they are pregnant and nursing was important for us because the fact that they are fed the same food promotes the transition from mother's milk to kibble. It's a challenge that we wanted to take up because it's this type of detail that counts at KOOKAPI!

How to make a food transition?

Note, each animal is unique, if you notice unusual symptoms in the first days of the transition, do not hesitate to make a longer food transition.

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT?

The adaptation time of the intestinal flora of dogs is longer than that of humans who are used to eating more variety. When you change your dog's diet, you have to make this change gradually, this is called transitioning.

Our insect protein kibbles particularly require a good transition because most dogs discover this animal protein for the first time. This is an advantage because it reduces its allergenic potential, however you have to give your pet time to get used to it!

Will my puppy and his mother like kibbles with alternative proteins (insects, algae and plants)?

We have great feedback on the palatability of our alternative protein kibbles even in picky dogs. Many reviews posted by our customers on our site bear witness to this!

We are all the more proud of it because if most of the croquettes found on the market contain chemical appetence factors such as pyrophosphate, at KOOKAPI we only use ingredients of natural origin such as brewer's yeast. and sunflower oil.

Plus, don't worry, as we know dogs just like us humans can have special tastes, if he ever refuses to eat them, we'll refund you.

PS: A simple way to increase the palatability of a ration for some difficult dogs and puppies is to add slightly lukewarm water to the bowl.
